Make a Christmas List in under a minute

Making a wish list for Christmas should be fun, easy and pain free and at Genielocker we make sure that this is always the case.  Whether its creating a list for your children or one for yourself Genielocker’s easy tool will save you both time and money without removing the excitement.

Creating your list

Follow these simple steps and let the fun begin:-

Click on “START A LIST” in the navigation bar or CREATE LIST within the top header and give the list a name, tell us who it is for and now you are ready to add some gifts to it.

Note: If you tick the list is for someone else then you will be able to see when people buy items off of that list.  If it is for yourself then you wont have that ability.  Don’t spoil the surprise however 😉

Now its time to add a gift to your list.  There are three ways of adding a gift:-

1. If you have found a gift that you would like and have the URL (internet address) for that item then simply copy and paste that link into the highlighted box and click “Go”. Genielocker will do the rest.  We will find the item and bring back all of the information so that the details are all available within your list .  Once you have confirmed the details are correct then you can “Add to My List”.
2. Use our search tool to find the gift that you want and we will search our most popular gift items and bring back a result for you to select. When you have chosen the product from our list of results then simply select “Add to List”, confirm that the details are correct (including how much you want the gift) and then hit “Add to My List” the gift is now on your list.
3. The third option is for you to manually create a gift entry. We make this available where items don’t exist on the internet.  Maybe you have seen an item at a local shop or you would love a knitted jumper from your Aunt Mable.  This is where you can create a gift item entry by giving it a name, a price, information around size and colour etc., how much you want it and maybe a short description.

And that’s it – you now have a list.

Saving your list

You have now added items to your list and want to either share or potentially save that list so that you can return to it at a later date.  If you haven’t already been prompted to save the list then you have the option within the menu bar on the left hand side to “Save List”.  Both options will require you to create an account with Genielocker to ensure the list is both secure and available.

Creating a Genielocker account couldn’t be easier.  Simply enter a username and password or log in using your social credentials (Facebook or twitter) and you now have an account, a saved list and the ability to share that list with your family and friends.

Sharing your list

Now its time to share your list.  With Genielocker it couldn’t be easier.  Simply click the “Share List” button at the top of your list and add the details of your recipient(s) into the boxes provided.  Over time Genielocker will remember to whom you have sent your list(s) previously and give you the simple option of ticking the appropriate people for an easier way of sharing.

Note: you can send your list to people even when it is not complete.  As you add items over time your family and friends will see the new items as soon as they are added to the list.

 

All done! You now have a list, a Genielocker account and your family know what you or someone close to you wants for that special occasion.   But remember “We make a living by what we get. We make a life by what we give.”
